RIO DE JANEIRO: CONTRASTS & CLICHÉS |

In early 2008, Thiago Da Costa was commissioned by Sony Creative Software to go down to Brazil and produce, direct, shoot and edit a short documentary about Rio de Janeiro, the city where he was born. |
The result of that trip, presented earlier this year at the Sony Booth at the National Association of Broadcasters Trade Show in Las Vegas, is RIO: CONTRASTS & CLICHÉS, a documentary that is part travelogue, part investigation of the current obsession in the Western world with all things Brazilian. |
Beyond his usual work running camera, directing scenes and editing the video, Thiago also wrote the text and narrated the piece, showcasing his skills as a journalist and documentarian which he developed while working in news and documentaries in New York for over 4 years. |
