THE DARYL DAVIS PROJECT GOES TO POST

  • December 20, 2011

THE DARYL DAVIS PROJECT, the next big project from Figura Media, has wrapped its main stage of production and is now being assembled and cut together. The film will follow Daryl Davis, a black boogie-woogie piano player for legends such as Chuck Berry, as he seeks to meet and befriend white supremacists around the nation, and with a little bit of luck to change their views. Set to be the first feature-length documentary produced entirely by Figura, The Daryl Davis Project promises to shed new light on the ever-controversial subject of racism in America. With interviews with leaders of both the KKK and NAACP, this film will show from both sides that we still have a long way to go to total understanding and acceptance in this allegedly "post-racial" society. A rough cut is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2012.

FIGURA INTERVIEWS 4 BOXING LEGENDS

  • February 21, 2011

Figura Media was recently commissioned by Vice Media to interview four of the world's most notorious boxers about their experiences not only in the boxing ring, but in the prison yard as well. Figura had the chance to sit down with Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins, Tommy Morrison, and Joe Frazier, all chosen because of their tough beginnings or criminal past. These candid interviews go into gritty detail about what happens when the toughest guys in the world go to jail. Frazier's interview was one of the last conducted before his death. This project was the result of a partnership with Vice Media and EA Sports designed to promote the new game Fight Night Champion, which sold better than expected after these videos were released.
